Abstract \r\nThis study investigates the awareness of predatory journals among the academic librarians in \r\nselected library schools in Kwara State. Guided the study were five (5) research objectives and \r\nquestions to elicit responses from the respondents. It adopts the case-study method as its research \r\ndesign, while the academic librarians in library schools in Kwara State are its population. The \r\nstudy adopted the use of a questionnaire to gather data from fifteen (15) academic librarians \r\nselected through a convenience sampling technique. Simple percentage, frequency table, mean \r\nand standard deviation are used to present and analyze its results in an easily comprehensible and \r\nstraightforward manner. The results reveal that academic librarians in Kwara State are aware of \r\npredatory journals; they are aware of the characteristics of predatory journals, reasons why \r\nresearchers publish in predatory journals, how to avoid publishing in predatory journals, and the \r\nimplications of publishing in predatory journals. The study, therefore, recommends, among others, \r\nthat academic librarians in Kwara State should resist the publish or perish syndrome, lack of \r\ninformation about integrity, and desire for quick and easy publishing as reasons for them to \r\npublish in predatory journals.
